Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated 28 August 2026.

1. Who is responsible

BIDCHAMP (“we”, “us”) is responsible for this policy. Questions about it or your data go to hello@bidchamp.lol.

2. What is public by design

Everything you submit with a payment — the listed URL, its name, one-line description, category, and the amount paid — is shown publicly on the leaderboard, the arena, and each listing's own page. Your fighter's colours are read automatically from the listed site's own favicon; nothing about you personally is used to generate them. That visibility is the product — it is meant to be seen, not a side effect.

3. What we collect and store

  • the listing details above, and a full history of payments made to each listing;
  • a click count per listing, kept as a running total with no visitor identity attached to it;
  • a rolling count of currently-open tabs, keyed by a random id generated in your browser for that tab and discarded within 30 seconds of you closing or leaving the page;
  • a cumulative, sitewide count of visits, with no identity attached;
  • standard web server and hosting logs (request URLs, IP address, timestamps) kept briefly for security and abuse prevention; and
  • if you email us, whatever you send in that email.

4. Cookies and local storage

BIDCHAMP sets no cookies. The only thing saved in your browser is your light/dark theme preference, kept in localStorage on your device — it is never sent to us. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers.

5. Payments

Checkout is handled by a third-party payment provider. We do not collect or store full card numbers; we retain the payment amount, timestamp, and which listing it was for, for accounting and dispute handling.

6. Why we use this data

To run the leaderboard and arena, to process and reconcile payments, to identify and reduce abuse (including the tab-presence count above), and to understand overall traffic to the site. We do not sell data, and we do not build advertising profiles.

7. Who we share it with

The payment provider processing your checkout; our hosting and database infrastructure; and the service we query to fetch a listed site's public favicon. None of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes beyond providing that service to us. We disclose data if legally required to.

8. Retention

Listings and payment records are kept indefinitely as the public record the product is built on, unless removed under Section 9. Server logs are kept briefly and then deleted on a rolling basis.

9. Removal and your rights

A listing can be hidden from public view on request at hello@bidchamp.lol; payment records tied to it are kept for accounting even after removal. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights over your personal data — such as access, correction, deletion, or objection to processing — under laws like the GDPR. Email us and we will respond.

10. Children

BIDCHAMP is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

11. Changes

If we change this policy in a material way, we will update the date at the top of this page.
